The Barcelona Pavilion has been chosen as a demo project because it is a relatively small project with a very distinct materialization. The Barcelona Pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, was the German Pavilion for the 1929 World Exposition in Barcelona. The original pavilion was demolished after the exhibition, but in the 1980s, a group of Catalan architects reconstructed the pavilion from the original plans at its original location.
